‘Ngabuburit’, is a common slang for activities done to fill the time while waiting for Ifthar.
TriArtSpace, an artist management community, invited Adiputra Singgih to show participants how to utilise a technique called ‘styrofoam printing’ to create their own design on greeting cards.
Using styrofoam as the stamp, the etching part of the techniques saves up to 3 hours compared to etching linoleum or wood, according to Adiputra. The workshop also shows a way for us to recycle an items we find so abundantly in our daily life – from food packaging to product cases.
Productively filling time, creating art, and taking part in caring for mother earth. What better way to spend an afternoon?
